How do you choose to connect?

Regardless of what your profile is (for example, I’m a 3/5 in Human Design), there will always be some people who need more isolation than others. That’s not wrong. It’s not avoidance. It’s design. We’ll go deeper into that another day… or maybe I’ll create a whole separate space for it 😁

But here’s what I’m really curious about…


Even if we require alone time, we are still human. And humans are wired for connection. Research consistently shows that meaningful connection supports mental health, regulates our nervous system, and even impacts longevity. Isolation might recharge us — but connection sustains us.


So how do you choose to connect?

And more importantly… why that way?


Is it what feels safest?

Most energizing?

Most convenient?

Most vulnerable?


Personally, I prefer connecting one-on-one — in person or through live conversation. I crave depth. I’m more present that way. If you know me, you know I usually have a million things happening around me while my mind is moving in a completely different direction.


Intentional, personal connection forces me to slow down. To focus. To actually be with someone instead of thinking about the next ten things. It brings me back into my body and into the moment.


Connection looks different for all of us. There’s no “right” way.

But becoming aware of how we connect — and why — can shift everything.
